By Car:

The street can only be accessed with a resident’s card (or by taxi). If you park temporarily at the end of Puits Châtel, at the intersection with Rue Jehan de Saveuse & Bourg Saint-Jean (making sure you are not blocking the street), it is only about 50 metres to the door of n° 32. You will then need to park in one of the following parking areas (7 to 10 minutes’ walk).

Le main parking area is on the “mail” which is the raised strip of land along the riverside between Pont Gabriel bridge and Boulevard Eugène Riffault on Quai Saint Jean. The first half (closest to the bridge) has parking meters and the second half is free. You need coins to work the parking meters. Fifteen minutes cost 30 centimes. Maximum 2 hours. You pay between 9 am and 12 pm then 2 pm to 6.30 pm. It’s free on Sundays and public holidays.

There is another free parking area on the opposite side of the road, further along, between the Mercure Hotel and the police station (Commissariat de Police).

A10 motorway from Paris to Blois

Just follow Blois Centre when you leave the motorway. To drop off your luggage, turn right at Rue Bourg Saint-Jean at the intersection with Rue Jehan de Saveuse & Bourg Saint-Jean (making sure you are not blocking the street), it is only about 50 metres to the door of n° 32.

Highway from Tours to Blois via Amboise

If you’re coming form Tours, you can either take the A10 motorway (route 1 or route 3) or follow the very pleasant highway along the Loire (route 2). Continue until you pass the second bridge and turn left at Rue Bourg Saint-Jean at the intersection with Rue Jehan de Saveuse & Bourg Saint-Jean (making sure you are not blocking the street), it is only about 50 metres to the door of n° 32.

Blois to Charles de Gaulle Airport (about 3 hours)

If you are going to the airport, the best solution is to  take the A10, then the N10, which takes you through the western suburbs, thus avoiding the highly congested périphérique (the ring road around Paris) . In normal traffic, it’s only 10 to 15 minutes and 20 K longer than Route 1 in the photo (I’m suggesting you take route 2). It says on my iphone that Route 2 takes 2 hours 50 minutes. I would not take the N20. There is a lot of traffic particularly trucks and at that time of the day I don’t think you would really achieve anything because it would still take you onto the périphérique and the N20 is not particularly scenic.

Allow at least an hour to an hour and a half extra as traffic is unpredictable!
